Advantages and Disadvantages of Chemical Fertilizer, Organic Fertilizer and Biological Fertilizer

Chemical fertilizer

Advantage: high nutrient content, quick fertilizer effect , Significant yield increase effect.

Disadvantage: nutrient is relatively single, so it usually needs several kinds of fertilizer during the application; fast nutrient release speed results in that vertical balance of supply capacity is poor; the nutrient will loss though volatile, leaching, fixed and other ways, so the fertilizer utilization is low; heavy acid, alkali and salt, improper application will not only do bad to plant growth, but also may make the soil worse and reduce soil fertility.

Organic Fertilizer

Advantage: it contains rich organic matter and a variety of nutrient elements needed by plants. Organic fertilizer is also excellent agent to improve soil fertilization, soil structure, soil nutrient and fertilizer capacity, enhance soil water retention capacity, adjust the soil pH, soil microbial activity, improve soil nutrient availability.

Disadvantage: Because of the low concentration of nutrient and slow fertilizer effect,so the yield is not as significant as the chemical fertilizer.

Biological fertilizer:

Advantage: it can activate the nutrient elements in the soil, stimulate the growth and absorption of roots, and reduce the corresponding amount of nutrients applied.

Disadvantage: it does not contain any nutrients, nor can it supply crop nutrition for a long time. Because the fertilizer is composed of live bacteria,so  it usually avoids direct sunlight and mixed with pesticide, and the requirements of soil temperature, humidity, acidity of alkalinity, organic matter content and other environmental conditions are also stricter.
