Function and Effect of Organic Fertilizer Agents
Organic fertilizer agent is a kind of substance that is added to other raw materials to regulate the water content, character and C/N ratio of the product. There are two main types of the organic fertilizer agents.
(1) Structure agent
This is an organic or inorganic substance which can reduce its bulk density and increase the gas space after being added into the raw materials. In addition, this substance can improve ventilation.
(2) Energy agent
This is an organic substance that can be added to increase the amount of degradable organic matter in the mixture, so it can boost the energy level of the mixture.
Organic fertilizer agents have been widely used in wet matrix regulation, including wood chips, straw, peat, cotton shells, feces, waste components, far away waste, and many other wastes. The ideal agents are dry, small and biodegradable. The recirculation of compost can reduce the density of the mixture. It means that the compost products can become an agent. However, recycling compost is different from other conditioning agents, because in the cycle, new materials are not required during processing. When composting with wet matrix, the recycled products are often used with an agent.
